Planters will pay you $45,000 a year—plus health benefits, travel expenses and a 401(k)—to drive the NUTmobile around the country

Expectations of extravagance just took a backseat as you now have the opportunity to drive a comically large piece of food on a cross-country journey.

Planters is on the lookout for three candidates to join their Peanutter team, consisting of drivers who will navigate a 26-foot-long peanut across the country’s highways. They’re currently accepting applications until February 14.

The job comes with a higher salary than operating a city-sized hot dog, despite the vehicle being slightly shorter. Planters is offering a $45,000 salary for the position, which lasts from June of next year to June of the following year. Additional perks include reimbursement for travel, meal stipends, and health insurance covering dental, vision, and prescription drug costs. A 401(k) plan with matching contributions from the company is also offered.

To become a member of the fourth class of Peanutters, you’ll need a college degree, ideally with a major in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, or a related field. You’ll also need to have a valid driver’s license. To apply, submit a resume and a brief video that showcases why you’d be a great fit for the Peanutter team.

A five-year-old publicity-stunt gone wrong, similar to a Super Bowl promotional event.

As a member of the Peanutter squad, you’ll serve as a corporate representative, attending parades, community events, and grand openings across the country, helping to showcase the company’s products. (To be honest, we admit the joke about nut-related puns was a bit of a groaner, but the ability to come up with clever nut-related puns is actually a requirement for the job, so let’s get your creative ideas flowing.)

This job comes with some real responsibilities. The company’s corporate communications team will schedule drivers for large events, but they’ll be on their own for planning smaller events and routes around those bigger commitments. Additionally, they’ll be responsible for reaching out to local media outlets, including radio, TV, and online publications to promote the NUTmobile’s visit to each town.

You’ll not only be responsible for the tasks mentioned, but you also might need to wear a costume and act out a character role, which is definitely a unique aspect. It’s hard to think of many other jobs that let you, for instance, dress up as a giant peanut to do your job.
