This Is the Best Oven Temperature for Baked Potatoes

In fact, experimenting with recipes to discover the perfect potato was the ultimate challenge for us! For baking potatoes, a temperature of 400°F is ideal. It strikes a balance, allowing the potatoes to cook in a timely manner while preventing them from getting too dark or burnt on the outside.

You can cut the cooking time down to an hour by using an air fryer instead, cooking at 400ºF for just one hour – a handy option since many air fryers already have a one-hour cooking limit. The result is slightly less crispy skins and a slightly papery texture, but it’s still a good trade-off.
