Attorney General Pam Bondi plans review of cases brought by NY prosecutors against Trump

in court.

Florida’s incoming Attorney General, Jennifer Grossinger isn’t stated by the source but is indicated to be her, was sworn in at the White House on Wednesday and plans to release a series of memos to stop the questionable use of the Justice Department, as a person close to her said.

She will initiate a review of cases against Trump, encompassing both federal cases filed by the Biden Justice Department, and caution employees against allowing their personal beliefs to supersede loyalty to the administration.

To execute an investigation into the Biden administration’s legal actions, and to reverse or nullify them if necessary, beginning the tone for Bondi’s tenure as the nation’s leading law enforcement figure.

In the proposed memo, Bondi would set up a “Weaponization Working Group” to scrutinize law enforcement actions taken under the Biden administration to identify instances of “politicized justice”.

She was awarded a $454 million civil fraud judgment against Trump.

In another memo, Bondi will remind career Justice Department officials that they must adhere to the administration’s legal positions in court and cannot replace them with their own personal beliefs. She will also warn that if they attempt to do so, they could face disciplinary action or even be fired.

‘The memo indicates that Department of Justice lawyers have the discretion to carry out these duties, but cannot replace the results of the election with their own opinions or biases’.

Bondi’s first day was met with controversy due to recent terminations of agents and prosecutors involved in investigations tied to former President Trump and the January 6, 2021, US Capitol breach.

She was administered the oath to office by conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who performed the ceremonial duty while Trump watched.

In brief remarks at the White House, Bondi said “We’re going to make America safe again.”

President Trump praised his selection for the role, stating that she will be “completely unbiased.”

I’m aware that I should stress that she’ll remain unbiased towards Democrats, and I do believe she’ll be as unfettered by bias as anyone can be. I’m not sure if complete impartiality is possible, but she’ll be as unbiased as anyone can be,” Trump said. “However, I’m confident that she’ll be fair, and she’ll oversee the Department of Justice in taking a firm stance against violent crime, tackling the gangs that are prevalent across the country.

The office of New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg did not provide a statement, and the spokesperson for the state’s attorney general couldn’t be reached for immediate comment.

President Trump has repeatedly challenged the validity of the lawsuits in court, but multiple judges have rejected his arguments and decided not to dismiss them.

A person close to the Trump administration has stated there are “no plans for mass firings at the FBI,” however, agents remain unsettled. The FBI handed over the names of over 5,000 employees who worked on the January 6 investigations in response to a memo from acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, with the subject line “Terminations.”

The source cited justification for obtaining more information about Jan. 6 case officials in the context of implementing an executive order by Trump aimed at revising the Justice Department’s past actions in order to stop alleged government abuse.

“The communication on personnel issues hasn’t been as clear as it should be,” the individual stated.

Bondi’s actions early on in office will face close examination. When speaking before lawmakers last month, she vowed to remove political influences from the job. However, the Trump administration has pointed out Bondi’s potential to adapt the department to align with the president’s goals.

When handling each case, we’ll follow the facts and make sure to apply the law fairly without any influence from politics. Politics should not be a part of our process, the head of the department said to the Senate Judiciary Committee. This department has been used for its own purposes, and that has to end.

Sources claimed that the memo implied the FBI was focusing on Catholics with “radical traditionalist” views, prompting then-Attorney General Merrick Garland to call it “appalling.” The memo was removed shortly after, but it was never formally withdrawn.

She will also remove a 2021 memo from Garland that addressed the “disturbing surge in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence” aimed at schools.

with that characterization.

A new working group under Bondi is planned to be set up to address the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel. The task will be to initiate criminal proceedings against Hamas leaders and conduct an investigation into anti-Semitism in the United States.

Some of Governor Bondi’s initiatives continue the pattern of tough law-enforcement and prosecution policies that Trump implemented in his first term, such as reviving death penalty cases and strongly pursuing drug cartels.

She will also draft measures modeled after an earlier directive from Bove, directing the department to temporarily stop federal funding for sanctuary cities and to reassess all funding arrangements with NGOs that provide aid to migrants residing in the US without documentation.

Into prosecutors who brought obstruction of justice charges against some rioters whose convictions were ultimately overturned because of a Supreme Court ruling last August.

The Senate confirmed Bondi on Tuesday evening with a 54-46 vote. The vote largely followed party lines, with Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania joining Republicans in backing Bondi.

Department already in transition

Despite plans to do better, the second Trump administration has not yet successfully formulated executive orders and policies that can withstand court challenges, although it has emphasized hiring staff for the Civil Division.

Ending automatic citizenship, calling it “blatantly unconstitutional.”

Within the initial days of the Trump administration, over 20 experienced prosecutors at high levels were reassigned from positions they had held for an extended period. This decision, according to insiders, was made prior to the confirmation of Bondi, in an apparent attempt to shield her from potential criticism.

Several of these career prosecutors were transferred to a new task force that handled President Trump’s immigration crackdown, several of the prosecutors stated. This task force was disclosed in a memo to all department staff from Bove, warning that it would conduct investigations or pursue prosecutions against state and local officials, as well as federal prosecutors, who refuse to participate in Trump’s federal immigration crackdown.

In companies, the declined event can happen when an employee decides to retire, resigns their position, or is let go due to poor performance.

Interim department administrators have distributed additional notices to department employees detailing changes in the department’s organizational structure and procedures going forward.

The Justice Department discovered widespread misconduct by police departments and issued a directive that suspended civil rights attorneys from filing new complaints or participating in cases without further notice.

A law “prohibits threats of force, obstruction, and damage to property intended to interfere with reproductive healthcare services.” The memo also instructed prosecutors to dismiss all ongoing cases charged under the act.

The department has dismissed other criminal cases as well, including one involving a doctor alleged to have accessed medical files in violation of the law, which contained information about a Texas hospital offering gender-affirming treatment to minors. It has also dismissed civil suits initiated by the Biden administration, one of which challenged the removal of voters in Virginia from the electoral rolls without their consent, using data suggesting those voters might not be U.S. citizens in the weeks leading up to an election.
